Hello Again! Let's talk about books.

Hey guys. Welcome back.

I know, I know. It's been a really long time since I've last posted. But don't worry! Things are going to change.

I have been thinking a lot about my blog since my first post. What are my intents and goals? What am I going to post? Do I really want to do this? It's taken me quite a while (almost 4 months *nervous laugh*) to answer these questions, and I'm still a little nervous.

I have no idea if people even want to listen to what I have to say. And that's okay.

I have decided to fully commit to this blog, whether people read it or not.

So, on that note, let's get started!

I love books. It's no secret. I can read a book all day long and have no qualms about doing anything else. Homework? Nah. Clean? Psh, as if. I think I'll read, thank you very much.

Reading a good book is like recharging my soul. I get to live in someone else's world, and who doesn't want to do that sometimes (or all the time)? When I connect with a character, I am filled with such gratitude for the author. It's like they wrote that book just for me. Does anyone else feel the same way, or am I just crazy?

I mentioned my love for reading in my first post, but today I'm going to tell you which books I'm currently reading, and why I'm reading them.

1) Betrayed by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast - This is the second book in The House of Night series, and I am hooked. I have fallen deeply in love with this series. It is sassy, funny, awkward, and sexy. What more could a girl want?? I love the different way the authors portray vampires (or in this series, "Vampyres"). I seriously recommend reading these if you haven't already. There are 12 books in this series. 12!!! Since I'm only on number two, I can't tell you how the other books are. But I can say that the first two are perfection.

2) Seriously... I'm Kidding by Ellen Degeneres - There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe this book. When I first saw it in Target, I immediately knew that I had to have it. I adore Ellen, and I knew I would love this book. (Hint: I was right!) This is the perfect read for when you're feeling down, or just want to laugh! This book is basically Ellen giving you life tips, but in a hilarious and fun way. It's riddled with jokes and one-liners, and there is a permanent smile on my face while reading it. Ellen makes you laugh the whole time, while also making great points about life (amongst other things). Half of the time, you can't tell if she's speaking the truth, or if she's making everything up! Regardless, this is a fantastic book, and you need to go get a copy straight away! (Side note: did you know that this is Ellen's third book?! I didn't either!! The other two are, My Point...And I Do Have One and The Funny Thing Is...)

3) The Maze Runner by James Dashner - This book has been on my "To Read" list for quite some time, but I just hadn't gotten around to reading it yet. I completely forgot about it, until I went to go see Divergent at the movie theater, and saw the movie trailer for it! I was amazed. The trailer peaked my interest once more, and I went out and bought the book! Oh. My. Gosh. This darn book. I don't even know what to write here, because this book renders me speechless. If you loved The Hunger Games and/or Divergent, then this is the book for you. I'm literally only at the beginning, but I am already sucked in, and I know that this is going to be a great book. I can't WAIT to find out what happens next!

4) Paper Towns by John Green - I'm sure you are all familiar with John Green and his popular book The Fault In Our Stars (and if you aren't, then what are you waiting for?!). But, my dear readers, you must remember that Mr. Green has other books as well! And this one is a gem. Paper Towns is the type of book where, when you finish reading it, a part of your soul leaves and goes into the book. I'm about halfway through, and I've invested so many emotions into this book that I'm surprised I have any left. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been filled with worry, and I've been filled with hatred. Any book that can do that is worth reading, don't you agree? It's suspenseful and witty and absolutely incredible. I'm not sure if there's any other way to describe it, so you'll have to go out and read it yourself!

Aaaaannnnnddd that's it! I feel like I'm reading more, but I can't remember! Oh well. I read so much that I know I'll make more of these types of posts, so I'll post about them then. :)

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Also, what books are you guys currently reading? I'm always looking for recommendations, so comment and let me know!
